Event Schedule

We recommend that you arrive at the event location on Saturday by 11.00 a.m. Please plan accordingly, so that you arrive with plenty of time to reach the event area.

Please note that lockers for valuables will not be available for all COLOR RUNNERS. We recommend that you enter the event area “ready-to-run”. That way you are perfectly prepared for the happiest five kilometers of your life.

Starting Line

Around 11.30 a.m. COLOR RUNNERS who are ready to start can gather at the great arch with “Start” written on it. At 12.00 noon we will start waves of roughly 300 runners every 10 minutes onto the track. Therefore, please make sure that you and your team stay together in order for you to enjoy the craziest 5k on this planet together. However, there is no problem if each member of your team runs at his own pace. When we start the countdown to start another wave remember: The COLOR RUN is not about being the fastest runner. There is no reason to fight your way to the finish festival as fast as possible. Take your time and enjoy the most colorful five kilometers of your life together with your friends and your family. How you run as a team is entirely up to you – everyone at his own pace, next, behind or in front of each other – just remember to have a good time. Wear your starting number full of pride in front of your t-shirt. It is a truly magnificent sight to behold, no matter if there is a beer belly or a six pack underneath.

The Finish Festival

When you are crossing the finish line the fun is not yet over by a long shot – the party is only just beginning. Take a drink, catch your breath and be proud of yourself: you just beat the craziest 5K on the planet. And now the party is starting to celebrate your accomplishment!

With the voucher from your Starter Kit you can pick now up a free bag of color at the color booth.

Color Throws

Every 15 minutes there will be a countdown to a big color throw. This is how the world famous color cloud is created. When all COLOR RUNNERS are throwing color in the air at the same time it is a truly breath-taking view. Therefore, make sure to save the color bag you received with your voucher for the finish festival and the joint color throws. Throwing it together is much more fun anyway. Trust us on this one: waiting will be rewarded!

More Color?

In case you have used up all of your personal color bag and would like even more you are more than welcome to purchase additional color powder in the finish festival area.

Food

Food and beverages will be provided inside the event area. So, there is no problem in having a little snack or refreshment during the event.

Cleaning Stations

Our patented cleaning station will blow you free of your color before your ride home. Some advice: In case you arrived by car, we recommend that you bring some blankets, towels or plastic trash bags to protect the inside of your car. Please mind the inside of the shuttle busses as well!

Color Stay or Color Away?

We are sure that you will never want to forget your memories of the COLOR RUN. However, if you want to get rid of the color on your skin and in your hair here is a bit of advice:

Before the COLOR RUN

It will be much easier to remove the color if you put some oil in your hair on the morning of the COLOR RUN. Coconut oil or olive oil work best in this regard. Using some hair conditioner can also do the trick. This advice is especially true for Color Runners with light hair colors.

Some runners choose to wear a piece of cloth to cover their hair. Others use it to protect their mouth while running through the color zones or to clean themselves off after the event. No matter what your plan is for the most colorful day of your life – a towel is definitely a very useful accessory for the COLOR RUN.

We strongly recommend that you bring some sort of eye accessory for the COLOR RUN. Some participants wear sunglasses or even goggles. That way you can protect your eyes from the color powder. Try to avoid contact lenses if possible. They do not work well with the color powder.

If you are known to have allergies we advise you to not take part in the COLOR RUN – especially if those allergies include known problems with dust. Although washing removes the color from any material we recommend that you leave your designer dress, your best tux and your 500€ running shoes at home for this occasion ;)

Before you set off, make sure to prepare your car and your house for your colorful return: You can cover the seats of your car with towels in order to protect it from the color. In your house you can prepare a trail of newspaper between your door step and the shower. That way you avoid repainting your entire house by accident.

During the COLOR RUN

When color powder is thrown at you try to keep your eyes and mouth closed if at all possible to avoid unnecessary irritation from the color. Please respect other runners who do not want color powder to be thrown at them. This is very important to us! Each and every COLOR RUNNER should have fun during the COLOR RUN before going home feeling happy and excited.

After the COLOR RUN

Most of the color will seem to magically disappear after the event. The remains can easily be washed off with some cold water. Get rid of any loose color powder in your hair. Afterwards remove any oil or hair conditioner that you may have put in your hair before the COLOR RUN by washing your hair as you usually would. It’s possible that a bit of color may still remain. This means to either wash your hair once more or to wear the remaining color with pride – a hat may also help ;)

We recommend that you bring plastic bags for your colored clothes and shoes. Having some spare shoes in your car is therefore a good idea.

Rules and Safety

We have a few simple rules to allow every COLOR RUNNER to have a fantastic day!

  • Be courteous and watch out for other COLOR RUNNERS.

  • If you are taking small children along with you make sure to always keep them in sight.

  • If you are worried about your health you are more than welcome to wear protective glasses, towels or dust masks.

  • The rule for the track is: runners on the left / walkers and dancers on the right.
